In a funk?

Welcome back and I hope you had a fantastic weekend! I know I did! I kept super busy, made some delicious food and got plenty of snuggles from the baby. After such a great weekend, I was obviously excited to start this week off with a bang. However, today has been tough. Plain and simple. We all have those kinds of days, but what can we do about it? I’ve been in a funk for the better half of the day and finally a cold shower and some warm vegetable curry helped boost my mood. I was also feeling a bit dehydrated so enjoyed 2 bottles of water. Now, while the baby naps, I work away and get my exercise in, while feeling very refreshed and energized. Yes, I’m starting to feel better!

In general, it’s a simple situation of mind over matter that will get us over any hurdle. When feeling down and stressed, it can be super easy to turn to food. I have worked on this scenario for years…turning to food as comfort…the difference these days, is that instead of reaching for a heaping bowl of ice cream topped with nuts, sprinkles, and chocolate sauce, I spend my time really cooking and getting creative for a healthy meal. I just start chopping away and scouring the pantry and finally my creation is born. We all have to find that “outlet” to help us get out of our funk/mood/stressful situation. Think about some things that you can do that aren’t destructive to your body and mind. For you, this could mean practicing yoga. Personally, I get very impatient with yoga…so it’s not for me. Everyone has to find what works best and it could literally take years.

I truly hope you find what creative outlet you will use to help you overcome situations such as this.

Stay Nourished
